Last updated: January 29, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to Passage Plan, a service provided by Global SAR Hub, SAS, registered under RCS Paris 928618776, France. The service is designed to help recreational boaters declare their planned voyages to the responsible Rescue Coordination Centers (RCCs).
By using Passage Plan, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this document. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, you should not use the service.
2. Service Description
Passage Plan is a free, multilingual online tool that allows users to submit voyage declarations, which are then automatically emailed to the relevant RCCs. Users enter details including:
- Their planned route
- Vessel information (MMSI, registration, dimensions, etc.)
- Crew and emergency contact details
Global SAR Hub is not responsible for the accuracy of submitted data or the actions taken by RCCs upon receiving these emails. Passage Plan is a complementary tool and does not replace official maritime distress and declaration systems such as those regulated by the IMO (e.g., GMDSS).
3. User Eligibility
- The service is open to individuals aged 18 and above.
- No user account is required to submit a passage plan.
- The service is intended for private recreational boaters only.
4. User Responsibilities
By using Passage Plan, you agree to:
- Submit accurate and up-to-date information.
- Acknowledge that the RCC is solely responsible for handling the received voyage declaration.
- Understand that Global SAR Hub is not liable for any incorrect information submitted or for any failure of the RCC to act upon a received email.
- Recognize that Passage Plan does not replace official safety or distress systems (such as EPIRBs, VHF DSC radios, or other GMDSS-compliant tools).
5. Data Handling & Privacy
Currently, Passage Plan does not store any user-submitted data. The information is directly transmitted via email to the relevant RCCs and is not retained on any servers.
6. Service Availability & Updates
- Passage Plan is designed to be operational 24/7, with occasional updates displayed via an on-screen notification.
- Global SAR Hub reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.
7. Limitation of Liability
- Global SAR Hub provides Passage Plan "as is" and makes no guarantees regarding the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the service.
- We are not responsible for any damages, direct or indirect, resulting from the use or inability to use Passage Plan.
- RCCs are independent entities, and Global SAR Hub is not responsible for their handling of submitted information.
- Global SAR Hub is also not responsible for any failure in the transmission or reception of emails by the RCCs. If an RCC does not receive, process, or acknowledge a submitted passage plan, Global SAR Hub cannot be held liable.
8. Legal Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.
- Any disputes shall be settled before the Commercial Court of Paris.
- Complaints can be addressed via email to contact@globalsarhub.com, or by phone at +33 7 75 72 67 32. Mediation will be sought before legal action.
